| Ok, they are making a remake of Jane Eyre starring Ellen Page. This makes me vomit for so many reasons. One, the BBC, who is doing the remake, just DID a remake in 2006, and it was AMAZING. Seriously, it was extremely well cast, and I'm hard to please when it comes to my Jane Eyre. Mainly because of Mr. Rochester. I ADORE this character beyond reason, and he is always portrayed completely wrong. Toby Stephens got him down pat, and I adore him so much for that. Must have gotten his talent from his brilliant mother, the great Dame Maggie Smith. The other reason is...ELLEN PAGE WTF?! WHY IS SHE DOING JANE EYRE! SHE'S NOT NEARLY NEAR RIGHT FOR THE PART! THIS PROVOKES ME TO CAPSLOCK OF RAGE!!
Also, they are making a remake of Wuthering Heights. *sigh* Must they? Again, they are casting someone who I think has no business going near Catharine, but what does my opinion matter in the big scheme of things.
This remake, however, has me excited. The Picture of Dorian Gray is being remade. eo'QGEHQEKHEQHEQKNH E SO EXCITED. I ADORE this story, but it does make me sad that this version will be lacking George Sanders, who was brilliant at what he did. And he was perfect in the original version. I really can't wait to see how they do this, the book is amazing. I just hope they don't take it and butcher it, like they did in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Just..so wrong. SO SO WRONG. And I hope they don't try to turn this into some awful major horror flick, cause it isn't that.
Angela Lansbury was in the original, and she was just absolutely stunning. Shame she can't be in this version either. AEHJEKLGEGN. |
